Senior Thesis Reflection

This year long capstone project has allowed me the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge I have gained through the last 5 years of  studying Architectural Engineering and completing internships. The Ringgold School District and entire project team were extremely helpful in helping me obtain this project to use as a model and in providing me all the necessary information I needed. Through in-depth technical analyses of my project during the Fall semester, I was able to gain a strong background of the current project attributes. This knowledge then gave me the ability to dive deeper into certain areas that could improve the new middle school construction and project as a whole. The Spring semester culminated with a full report and presentation on the results of studying the criteria selected for analysis based on design, cost, schedule, and research. Overall, this senior thesis project has helped prepare me to enter the industry with confidence to take on any challenge thrown my way.

CPEP Reflection

In my opinion, the CPEP website is a very efficient way to present the results of the senior thesis projects. Organizing this information on the website is not only efficient and professional in nature, it allows the student to become even more familiar with their project - as it must be explained in a way that anyone can view this website and know what is going on. Prior to creating this website, my web page design experience was limited. This CPEP portfolio has given me the opportunity to learn about web page design and develop a new method of organizing information.

Note:  While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Cory Mosco. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
